Meet @marlenerougier

This summer, Nénés and Manon, founder of the upcycled brand Marlène Rougier, are once again bringing their worlds together for a capsule collection designed hand in hand.

This second collaboration celebrates what made their first one a success: sunshine, color, and positivity, through unique, comfortable pieces designed to last.

Discover Manon and the behind-the-scenes story of this summer collection in this interview.

Hello Manon, can you introduce yourself please?

My name is Manon, I’m 30 years old, and I’ve been working on my upcycling brand for 7 years now.

I’m also active on Instagram under the name @marlenerougier, where I share my outfits as well as all the pieces from my brand.

Your style in a few words?

Comfortable yet stylish: I love loose, oversized cuts that allow me to work with ease, while pairing them with more sophisticated touches like jewelry or styled hair. I’m a big fan of accessorizing.

How did you get started on Instagram?

I've always been drawn to content creation: making videos, taking photos, and curating beautiful visuals. In that sense, being on Instagram feels like a natural evolution of this passion for creativity.

Initially, on my professional account, I only posted pieces from my drops. But gradually, inspired by other influencers, I started sharing outfits, moods, and more. It happened organically, and I think it will keep evolving in the same way. :)

Where does your passion for fashion come from?

I wouldn't say I'm a fashion enthusiast: I love clothing, beautiful pieces, and the textiles in general, but I'm not someone who closely follows trends. I really just go with the flow, following my instincts and what feels right at the time.

Tell us about your story with Nénés

I've always loved Nénés pieces. They’ve gifted me several models that I continue to wear. I think it’s one of the brands that best highlights the body with its cuts and fabrics.

The project came about naturally during a conversation. Our worlds align perfectly, so the adventure began!

Why did you choose to co-create a collection with Nénés?

I think we share a similar idea and vision of what fashion can be, both in terms of style and overall approach: our values, how we communicate, and how we connect with our communities.

Our ways of doing things complement each other, so the connection felt very natural.

How did you design the collection?

We designed this collection as a continuation of our first collaboration, but with a summer twist. We wanted pieces that are easy to wear, that can go from the beach to everyday life, while always keeping that sense of femininity and comfort.

It was also a real challenge for me because I never work with swimwear. So it was really interesting to bring my world into contact with Nénés, since that is exactly their area of expertise.

We had a lot of discussions about cuts and details such as open backs, ties, and fabrics, in order to create pieces that are both simple and full of character.

I see both myself and Nénés reflected in the pieces we’ve created: comfortable, pleasant to wear, high quality, and timeless.

What is your favorite piece and why?

I have a real soft spot for the backless one-piece swimsuit.

First of all because it was a completely new exercise for me, but also because it really captures the balance of the collection: a simple piece with a strong detail. The open back adds a subtle sensual touch while still being very easy to wear.

I also love the fact that it can almost be worn like a bodysuit in everyday life.

What makes this collection sustainable?

The choice of materials as well as the quality of design . By offering timeless pieces, we can focus on their durability, both aesthetic and "functionally".

I believe we've stayed true to this commitment, and to me, this makes the co-creation even more successful.

The collection is available online in limited quantities. We can't wait to see how you embrace it!
