The Palm Bag: From Defective to Desirable
New arrival in our summer 2024 collection: the Palm Bag!
A bag made 100% from dormant Palm pants. A cool, colorful, ultra-practical, and trendy bag. An upcycled bag made in France by women in a vocational training workshop.
Shall we explain its history to you?
Flashback a year! Margot designs and imagines the Palm pants: a wide-legged pair with gathered details at the bottom of the leg. All in a fabric composed of linen and lyocell, and in a beautiful, soft sea green color. A favorite with the team and customers!
After weeks of waiting for production and many hassles, the verdict is in: all 150 pairs of pants produced are defective. The cut is incorrect, and the material is damaged in places after being dyed several times.
Throw them away? Out of the question!
Should they be given away or sold at a discounted price as "Survivors"? No, they are defective, not very portable, and not durable...
But luckily, Léna, our new product manager at Nénés, joined our team in September and found a brand and workshop specializing in upcycling. Perfect for giving these pants a new lease on life!
And that's how we met Atelier Regain!
Atelier Regain is a Marseille-based textile upcycling studio that creates clothing and accessories from collected second-hand textiles to give them a second life.

Meeting with Monia
To mark the release of our upcycled Palm bag in collaboration with Atelier Regain , we went to the workshop in Marseille to discover what goes on behind the scenes of the bag's making.
A look back at our meeting with Monia, founder of Atelier Regain!
