FAQ: Our Women’s Knit Sweaters
What Are the Different Types of Knit?
Knit is not limited to a single texture or finish. It varies with the seasons and the materials used, giving each sweater and garment a unique personality. Natural, recycled, or blended fibers shape the feel, warmth, and flexibility of the garment.
The main types of knits are:
- light and delicate, perfect under a jacket or worn on its own.
- generously voluminous, ideal for cozying up in winter.
- sophisticated, with subtle transparency, suitable for multiple seasons.
- more elastic, highlighting the silhouette without compressing.
Each style has its unique comfort and aesthetic, naturally fitting into both our collections and your wardrobe.
What type of knit fabric are Nénés sweaters made of?
To combine durability, softness and warmth, we select natural and recycled fibers that are carefully assembled.
In doing so, our sweaters combine different wools (including recycled wool) with alpaca, mohair or even polyamide (to stabilize the shape while maintaining a silky feel).
This expertise gives rise to comfortable, slightly oversized pieces , perfect for revealing every woman's femininity with character and relaxation.
We take care to choose these wool blends optimally: this allows for the best preservation of shape and softness wash after wash.
How do I wash my wool sweater so that it doesn't get damaged?
Careful care will prolong the life of your favorite sweater! For the sweaters we sell at Nénés, we always recommend hand washing or a wool or delicate machine wash at a low temperature, ideally cold.
In addition, avoid washing your sweater too frequently : this will help preserve the fiber and limit the appearance of pilling.
Another tip: use detergent for delicate fabrics to pamper your knits . When washing, keep the spin cycle gentle: avoid excessive agitation or harsh spin cycles, which could damage your garment.
If possible, hand wash your sweater; to wring it out, simply squeeze it in a towel and then let it dry flat away from direct heat sources.
How can I maintain the fit and quality of my sweater over time?
Beyond washing, it's taking care of your sweater on a daily basis that will make the difference.
Here are some tips:
- Fold your knitwear flat rather than hanging it on a hanger; it will keep its drape.
flawless ; - If any lint appears, gently remove it with a comb adapted, instead of tearing out the fibers. This technique allows the original softness of the fabric to be prolonged for a long time;
- Finally, take the time to read the care label inside the sweater: each model has its own recommendations depending on the blend of yarns used.
These simple steps align your purchase with our responsible approach by preserving your sweater and valuing the craftsmanship behind each piece in our collection. Thank you!
How to wear a knit sweater?
The knit sweater can adapt to all your occasions , from the most casual to the most refined.
We prefer it slightly oversized , for more comfort: worn this way, it easily harmonizes with high-waisted jeans, a flowing midi skirt or even over a light dress.
Dare to accessorize : add a wide belt to accentuate the waist or play with contrast with delicate jewelry.
Neutral tones, like deep shades, reveal the raw beauty of the knitwear and allow for easy layering!
How do our knit sweaters fit?
Our sweaters generally have a straight or slightly oversized cut . This cut has been designed to flatter all body types, offering enough comfort without sacrificing the silhouette.
Our cuts allow freedom of movement, without compromising on style.
We recommend choosing your usual size to fully appreciate the drape designed by our creators. If you prefer a very relaxed fit, you may want to choose the next size up.
For greater accuracy, our size guide always lists the main measurements to better guide your purchase!
